It's no secret that minimalist design has been the feature of many trends over the past year or two.
Companies like IKEA, that sell Scandanavian style furniture pieces, have taken advantage of the trend to make marketable profits. Many people respond to the clean lines, monochromatic colour schemes, simple graphics, and all around crisp and clean design.
Like all things, some may like it, some may not. While it does the trick of getting the point accross, the lack of bright and bold colours paired with fun fonts doesn't leave a whole lot to imagination. Take a look at some examples of what could be called complete opposites on the design spectrum:
